Yayasan Karya Sains
Yayasan Karya Sains is a non-profit registered foundation dedicated to advancing science, public health, and community well-being through scholarly publishing, capacity building, and community-based health development. Established in Jakarta on May 16, 2019, the foundation was founded by Bhisma Murti, a senior academic and public health scholar committed to strengthening evidence-based health sciences in Indonesia and beyond.
The foundation is legally recognized by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia under Decree Number AHU-0007028.01.04. Year 2019, reflecting its formal standing and long-term commitment to integrity, transparency, and public benefit
Mission and Vision
Yayasan Karya Sains envisions a society empowered by scientific knowledge and evidence-informed practice. Its mission is to promote the generation, dissemination, and application of high-quality scientific research—particularly in health and allied sciences—to improve population health, reduce inequalities, and support sustainable community development.
Core Areas of Activity
1. Scholarly Publishing
Since 2016, Yayasan Karya Sains has served as a publisher of international, open-access, and peer-reviewed academic journals, providing a platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share rigorous scientific evidence.
In addition to publishing journals, Yayasan Karya Sains has also published books in the areas of biostatistics, epidemiology, health promotion and behavior, health economics, and research methods.
2. Capacity Building and Professional Development
The foundation regularly organizes workshops, training programs, and capacity-building activities for students and practitioners in allied health sciences. These initiatives focus on research methods, scientific writing, data analysis, health program evaluation, and evidence-based practice, contributing to the development of a competent and ethical health workforce
3. Seminars and Scientific Conferences
Yayasan Karya Sains acts as an organizer of seminars and conferences in allied health sciences, providing inclusive forums for knowledge exchange, academic networking, and constructive dialogue among researchers, health professionals, and policymakers at both national and international levels.
4. Community Health Development
In line with its social mission, the foundation is actively engaged in community health development, including health promotion and education for the general public, screening for non-communicable diseases, and training programs for community health workers. These activities aim to translate scientific knowledge into practical actions that directly benefit communities, including older adults.
